Elsie Claybaugh
Elsie C. Claybaugh, 96, of Moline, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Wednesday February 3, 2010 at Our Lady of Victory Church, Davenport with an hour visitation prior to the mass. Additional visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 8pm at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st Street A, Moline. Entombment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Our Lady of Victory Building Fund.
Elsie was born July 1, 1913 in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of August and Mary Taets Polfliet. She married Maurice Duyck on July 11, 1928. He preceded her in death. She married Forrest Claybaugh on December 8, 1956 in Rock Island. He preceded in death October 20, 2003.
Mrs. Claybaugh was the owner and operator of the former Elsie’s Beauty Salon, Moline. She was a member of the National Assoc. of Hairdressers.
Survivors include a daughter, Marian VanDeCasteele, Moline; son, Duane (Sharlene) Duyck, Davenport; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
